ATROCIOUS!!!!
Our council tax is already overpriced!!
Taking band D as an example £1,230 a year. Brown bins, grey bin & recycling bin collected every 2 weeks. This equates to 72 collections a year, therefore £17 per collection per house hold.
IF council tax includes street lights other maintenance. Then should house hold get refunded when street lights is not working and elderly is resulted to walk in pitch black??!!

Absolute disgrace that the Council are planning to charge residents extra when the Council Tax fee has already risen and should cover this service.

A disgrace, what else will they then tax on its own, if this goes through this will not be the last and when are they going to come round and take my bin away? They can have it and stick it!!

This will lead many folk to putting garden waste in their green bins and will mean Highland Council will have to pay more for landfill. How about selling the composted green waste back to us as a way of raising money?

I already pay a factor charge to maintain our development, council tax is going up around 10% for band E and you want to charge £30 for a bin, a bin that if you didn't give me one, I could put the waste intended for it into the green one.

Negative move by Highland Council. This will lead to more fly tipping of garden waste into woods, ditches, burns, verges & green areas ETC. If bin is not put out do you still have to pay? It will also lead to less bins being collected therefore making collections less cost effective. As council tax is being raised by 3% for all, more for others, it is an additional cost that should not be passed on at this time. It will work out at approx £1:50 per collection. If a household has two bins are they being charged double? Don't object in principal to being charged, but too high a charge at the wrong time. Would be happy to pay £0:50 per collection, but at £1:50 I will be looking at other ways to dispose of garden waste.

I think we pay enough in Council tax to cover that .

How do you expect a pensioner to pay the rise in council tax and pay for the Brown Bin to be emptied not everyone is able to compost or take garden waste to recycling plant due to mobility problems and age maybe the Counciller that was spouting off about that on tv should think again or take a cut in her expenses to generate more money.
