WE, THE UNDERSIGNED CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU; SIGN THIS PETITION TO CONVEY OUR STRONGEST OPPOSITION AGAINST THE PROPOSED CASINO GAMBLING IN PALAU. CASINO GAMBLING IS CURRENTLY PROHIBITED BY THE LAWS OF PALAU FOR MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS.

I have been hearing from so many of you who fear that a casino would destroy the quiet dignity of our home. This fight is about protecting our culture and the future of every family here from an industry that treats our prosperity like a game.

Seeing this level of support reminds me that we are protecting the soul of our islands for our children. I never imagined this many people would join me in rejecting the gamble that threatens our peace.

there must be other means of getting revenues to Palau other than casinos. we have to think about the impact this will have on our people and on our environment. this will bring influx of people in to our small island people who only care about money. these same people will not care about the environment. this will also promotes illegal drugs trafficking and prostitution. if this casino was a good idea, don't you think our forfathers who made this beautiful island to be we are so proud of have thuoght of that? I am sure they had and casino was not one of them. lets not get rich fast. lets think of Palau and it's children. I oppose casino coming to Palau.
Are there any citizens who support casino gambling in Belau other than elected leaders serving self interest. What social, economical, legal , etc.. analysis have you come up with to support such bill ? Do we even do analysis on various bills being passed on both houses? Conserve our marine resources as we would with humanity striving to preserve, protect and nurture livelihood in all ages in individual, family , clan, community and as a nation. May we continue to pray for elected leaders that they may lead this Nation with God's help. SULANG>>>

As a small island, we of all states, countries, cities, etc. around the world should be smarter and better to know that casino/gambling is just not right for our little island home. We ourselves could not stop each other from a little gambling game called "zorro" and we think we can handle a casino? I honestly think we as citizens of Palau should all give this a second thought and say no to casino before it takes over our small island we call home.
