STOP KANSAS CITY FROM ALLOWING BRINSHORE DEVELOPMENT HOUSING TO BUILD BY NORTH PLATTE PURCHASE NEIGHBORHOODS

I've never come across a HUD project or a Section 8 property that wasn't dilapidated before it's time. These areas and these properties aren't a beacon of hope for the downtrodden. The HUD and Section 8 systems are broken and if they weren't I personally wouldn't have a problem with this development. Crime heat maps of current HUD projects and my own personal experience dictates that I should be very concerned with this particular development. I wish it weren't that way, but it is.

Low income houseing is not a correct direction for these properties. I am a man who has been homeless , yet I have also served in the middle east as a civilian contractor. I grew up near this area and it disgust's me how you build and area up , and then bring it down with HUD/Section8 housing..... the occupants of such housing will movin and not care because they have $0 invested in the property thus in about 8 years it will become the high crime district of Kansas City........... Maybe that is why the new North Patrol is by KCI , and the other is off of Pleasent Vally Road..................................... Whats done Is done. This petition will fall just as safety in the northland as fallen..... For those of you who plan to continue to live in the area...... I would say take advantage of your right to baer arms and protect your property.........

Many - if not all - area residents chose to live in this area to keep the crime and blight at arms length. . . not to welcome it into our back yards. It may be a nice looking development at first, but it won't last long.

I've seen section 8 neighborhoods and apartments & most of them are awful. Mainly dirty and disrespectful to those around them. I do not want to be anywhere near these places unless there are strict rules. As not all section 8 residents are criminals, most do bring upon crime that everyone in the northland is trying to avoid, hence why we live here and not in independence, some parts of northtown, or northeast.

I want to know why this site was chosen, and why would you forfeit green space for housing? I want to know which politician thinks this is a good idea

Don't build those apartments north of the river.

If development were to happen in this area it should be single dwelling homes for families or individuals that will pay taxes and contribute to improving the value of the community. When provided housing for free there is little or no incentive to take care of it nor make any effort and investment to increase the value and appearance of the property. Little thought appears to have put into the increased burden on services, traffic, schooling etc. Someone stands to make a great deal of money on the construction and continued Federal dollars being dumped into this project and it is not someone that lives in the north-land that has an interest in improving or maintaining property values and quality of the neighborhood. This may also be an attempt to help shift the demographics in the area for future voting on programs or projects like this in the future!
