I'm against the proposed building of these HUD housing. Our schools are already overcrowded and traffic in this area is bad as is. I'm not okay with having this small piece of land be developed and ruined in my neighborhood

I am not in favor of allowing the development of either location. This KC Star article about the overall project is what raises a few concerns to put this ~100 yards from my property: http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article8421588.html

This project is designed for the inner city. It floors me that our Representative does not understand his own district! Our subdivisions are higher end, this project will lower property values, bring crime and additional traffic. What total idiots we have working on our behalf.

This will only add to congestion on Barry Rd and Platte Purchase, overcrowd our schools and add potential issues to the area. This is not needed in the Northland.

I oppose the development of section 8 housing and apartments at the corner of Barry Road & Platte Purchase. This is not a suitable location given our infrastructure and many other factors.

We have worked hard our whole life to afford nice secure safe neighborhoods surrounding us plus and by paying high property taxes! Why should you the government have the right to use our hard work to share with people who will not work thus driving the price and value of our property down. I live near 100th and N Oak and we already have Section 8 housing near 152 and N Oak and immediately we saw crime rise in our neighborhoods, nothing can be left outside and it is not safe to even walk the streets during the day or night. So you want to bring this more to our area - shame on you! This will be remembered come election time! Spend money in those areas they are already living since the North KC tax base pays 70% of the city's budget anyway!

I am a new homeowner in the Nashua area. I have previously lived in less quality and lower income neighborhoods which was the main reason my husband and I worked so hard to buy our home in this area. We were tired of the drugs and drug dealers, the traffic all hours of the night, excessive vandalism, having to check the park for needles and paraphernalia. I am not saying the poor do not deserve to live in the northland; I simply believe if I could do it then they could, too. Additionally, just because families leave a bad area does not mean they are bettering themselves. I worry for my safety.

Why????? Leave it the way it is take the money you would spend on this new development and fix up the Paseo Gateway!

Another consideration in addition to the others is the destruction of the green space itself. Those green stretches have intrinsic value and are a boon to the community and planet as a whole. Problems need to be fixed ... not relocated.

No section 8 housing wanted. Please do not bring down the value of my home. I'm a hard-working tax payer.

Keep from northland too much crime is already in that complex and moving it up north will make it worse
