Not a good idea. You're bringing the element with the facility. Rebuild it where it's at or locate it, on a parcel that isn't open season for the folks that want to stay together. There's a reason for that. Gang mentality. Ask the police if it's a good idea

Not good for the northland. It's growing so much and schools are overcrowded enough as it is. Concerns of increased crime as well. I hope the best outcome for everyone involved.

This needs to be decided by the communities affected, not the disinterested mayor and city council.

This has already proven to be a problem where they are located. You don't solve the issues by moving them together up north. Tired of the Northland being treated like a dumping ground with no say on these issues.

The city should encourage more home ownership and less rental. This encourages economic growth and less crime.
Also, there are parts of the city that need development. The Northland is doing quite well without public financed projects.
Condos should be developed, not rental units.

I am not saying low income housing is bad, but at least do background checks on people before they apply, I would hate for a great area of KC to go so bad with nasty people moving in!!!

I have lived in the northland area, and mostly platte county, for over 30 years. I have seen a lot of development occur in this time frame but do not believe this type of development would enhance the northland or benefit the residents of the area. They need to find a more suitable area for such a development.

No we don't want this kind of development in our area. Find somewhere else!

This is not a good area for Section 8 housing. People that are eligible for Section 8 are low income and have no stake in the upkeep of the property. What are the crime rates in the Chouteu courts now?

Moving the problem does not solve it, it simply creates a problem somewhere else. Melvin is correct, let's focus on improving the inner city and start with schools so our young people have a chance at a future. Crowding a multi family development into an area not equipped to handle any facet of it certainly does not help anyone.

I am totally against having the apartment complex built at Barry Rd and Platte Purchase. If it comes to fruition, I will be moving for sure.
