I would like to let everyone know that I am greatly honored by the huge support I have received from the community in my quest to be considered the Athletic Coordinator of LHHS. Today after discussing this decision with my wife, I have made my final decision to withdraw my consideration to become Athletic Coordinator. I had a personal conference with Bob Dubey, the RISD Athletic Director, on Thursday afternoon for over an hour. We had a great talk about the position and what it entails. When all was said and done, for me to become the Athletic Coordinator, I would also have to be the head football coach and that is not something I desire to do since I am engrained in the LH wrestling program.
During our talk, he gave me the opportunity to discuss the concerns I had as both a coach and a community member. I can say that during these last 2 weeks, a message has been sent by the community that Lake Highlands is unified and on the same page of wanting an Athletic Coordinator that truly wants not just a good football team, but also wants to see the overall athletic programs in Lake Highlands improve.
In conclusion, Lake Highlands will be heading in the right direction. I plan on supporting the new Athletic Coordinator/Head Football coach 100% when he arrives. I believe that our community will unify and move forward into a positive future for the Lake Highlands area.

We are grinding toward one hundred signatures and the district needs to see that we are not finished fighting for our program. Get this link in front of everyone you know right now because the administration is watching to see if we lose our momentum.

Couldn't agree more - Pete Grieder should be the LHHS Athletic Director (if he wants it!). The AD position should be more than just a way to pay a football coach an additional stipend! Coach Grieder is a true fan and supporter of every sport (and those who play) at LHHS, not just his own.
As President of the LH Band Parents, I have had many occasions to appreciate Pete Grieder as parent, coach, dedicated LH citizen. He and his wife have been pillars of our community. Pete is an excellent candidate and I encourage the search committee to consider his candidacy seriously.
Pete Grieder's dedication to the LH Community, continual commitment to his LHHS Wrestler's success (athletic, academic, and personal), and development of successful a youth feeder program are just a few examples that should speak for themselves. He walks the walk. And I truly believe LHHS athletics could benefit from his leadership.
Dedicated, organized, consistent, high integrity, leader, loyal to community, record of success - All of these describe Pete Grieder. My kids have the highest regard for him, having participated in several sports within Lake Highlands schools. That says it all.
It's time to have a proven leader, a successful coach and community icon considered as the person to re-build the LH athletic department. All to often, the incoming football coach is automatically 'given' this position as if it were an entitlement. Let's break this antiquated way of business. It's way overdue. Coach Grieder would be a tremendous choice.
Coach Pete has continued to truly define what a great asset he is to the school district by being a great coach. He has mentored and inspiring all the kid that have had the pleasure of knowing him... class of 96
Coach Grieder is a classy guy. For 23 years he has helped boys become men, and along with that he has taught them some pretty darn good wrestling skills.

Our son attended LHHS and had the privilage of being on the wrestling team from 2010 - 2012. Pete Grieder is one of the best coaches we have ever known and would make an excellent AD based on his integrity, honesty, leadership and respect he gains from all that come into contact with him.
