When we visit family there is no where to park. I have a niece in an electric wheelchair and she is unable to pass inconsiderate cars parked on pavements

Local council should walk the town and hang there heads in shame for not helping residents with this cause

What a stupid idea. Costs money, increases paperwork for residents, and doesn't actually stop anyone parking anywhere anyway. FFS!

We regularly get people parking outside our house and we have a Fire Hydrant with very visible Yellow Lines

Please let workers who travel in also be considered in this as we have to struggle to park but at least we think of the locals

As we do not have a driveway, we have to park our car on the road in front of our house. However, during the summer months it is increasingly difficult as day trippers fill our road by cars. The situation forced us not to go anywhere by car during the weekend. This situation is very frustrating.

Hi. I am a local of wells-next-the-sea. I also am a user of a disability scooter have been so upset because of the visitor's parking,it is awful and dangerous not just for me but for all residents in this town.

Wells is a small town with narrow roads. Visitors park on pavements which blocks them fir pedestrians. As the roads are narrowed by parking and the junctions are used to park on visibility is reduced making it dangerous to pull out of and into the next road. Drivers are so busy looking fir parking places that they’re not looking for pedestrians and cyclists. Where people were holidaying abroad they’re now coming here instead. This is making the town so busy. Access to our own houses is blocked as residents now can’t park outside their own homes due to visitors parking in residential areas. Carers can’t see their patients as not able to park. Mill road is blocked frequently by people parking opposite the bus stop so buses can’t get through. Northfield lane is blocked both on the road and paths. People drive very fast to the east quay along the lane looking fir parking, I had to grab my 5 year old daughter away from a car speeding down there as we visited our allotment. There is a huge amount of research about the behaviour of people when they are on holiday carried out by the UCL that could be utilised for finding some solutions. But right now the priority should be finding a solution to manage the influx of tourists to the area and the safety of everyone. We already have the worst ambulance response times in the country. With road access being reduced by parking surely this should be prioritised with managing visitor numbers. Residential area permits fir local residents who live and work here must be the first priority with a park and ride area out of town. When Wells parking is full it’s full. The town needs more pedestrianised areas, pedestrian crossings and safe cycling areas. Much more enforcement and signage which is Also enforced reminding people of the importance of observation and safety. The impact of all these cars and visitors on the environment also needs to be addressed as another urgent priority.

Parking has just got beyond ridiculous in Wells. When a home owner cannot even park outside their own property. It’s like our own Lockdown. Working for the EEAST I worry how much longer it would take for an Emergency Ambulance or other Emergency Service vehicle to get to scene.

Not only residents, I feel care workers, emergency staff,home helps also need permits, my family members care workers couldn't find parking to care for her.
Also another family member who is a home help, couldn't park to care for her clients. We actually could do with a park and ride as the town is in gridlock we can't cope with so many cars on the roads .
