This problem is becoming worse with the unprecedented increase in the numbers of day trippers. Work and residents' parking permits, or addtional vsitors car parks would help relieve it.

I used to live & work in Southwold & it would regularly take us an hour or more to find a parking space. It's a huge, frustrating issue, especially when so few of the houses come with any sort of parking space.
A new, residents & workers only car park would be a way to solve the problem.

I work in a busy Salon within the high street, I do believe that parking permits for those that live and work in Southwold would benefit greatly by holding parking permits as long as the cost is reasonable to both.. we have no other option but to come to Southwold to work in our cars as the bus network doesn't actually cater for the working times of all businesses within the town.

Even though I no longer live in the area I am fully aware of the very real parking issues faced by residents.

Couldn't agree more, even though I am not a worker in Southwold, I am retired and live in Reydon. The only way to shop during the holiday season is to walk there or catch the bus, but for the workers, there should be free parking.

Time something was done for the workers in Southwold, parking permits would help
loads. After all how would Southwold survive without the workers?

Parking permits, a great idea. However, there needs to be a grander solution to deal with the volume of traffic coming into and staying in Southwold over the summer. A new car park, for instance. Southwold can't handle much more in terms of continuing growth until this issue is resolved. There is simply not enough space.

This is a fantastic idea of is a nightmare trying to park especially if you work an afternoon shift.
I have volunteers who take an hour sometimes to park at peak times.

I'm sure the Town Council are working on something, but I support this petition to enable people who work in the Town to be able to park, without a threat of being fined.
