I live very close to the area of the accident and have been trying for years to the council to sort out the trees / lighting and road but to no avail. The county council and local council (Epsom and Ewell) prefer to blame each other rather than take any action. Lets hope something positive come out of this tragic event.

i have walked this road regularly to access the River Club, every time i walk on the non- pavement area i am very conscious of how dangerous it is. As i pass the horses field i am forced to walk in a muddy trench which becomes so narrow you have to step into the road to pass a tree. To try to keep myself safe I lean into the hedge of the field away from passing traffic. please put a pavement and better lighting in this area, the trees overhead block the light before it gets dusk.

Such a dangerous road for all users. Such a tragic loss of life for the sake of a footpath.

i've accidentally walked on that lane... it seemed a nightmare! google maps doesn't tell you there is no pedestrian pathway... and now I feel terribly sorry for that woman who died,probably getting there by mistake!!

It would be good if the pavement could continue all the way along this stretch of road. There are newer residental properties, so you would have thought that the residents require a safe way to leave their house without a car. Hopefully the road can be made safer so this doesn't happen again.

People drive dangerously fast on that road. A few years ago I nearly had a head on collision when a car on the opposite side of the road hit a kerb and ended up couple of meters in front of me.
