Have any thoughts been made regarding the emergency services and access to York District in an emergency?

There needs to be pedestrian / cycle access, the detour is not feasible

Living in Cawood I regularly cycle/drive across the bridge it needs to be kept open for at least pedestrians and cyclists it's a long detour via Selby.

I regularly cycle over the bridge, and closure means a massive cycling detour on busy roads.

My husband works in Cawood & has to travel from & back to York each day. Detouring will add 150 miles on to his weekly travel, incurring longer days & much higher petrol costs which we as a family cannot afford.
Giving pedestrian access will help tremendously. Please consider this.
Thank you.

I cycle over this bridge at least 3 times a week on my way to the university as A 19 is too busy for cyclists. I am not using cycle path to York as I had few unpleasant incidents involving dogs and their owners. Please provide pedestrian crossing in Cawood over the river for the duration of the work.

A lot of pedestrian/cycle traffic uses this bridge and closing it will cause a massive detour to the next bridge!

Let's have a bit of common sense and provide a pedestrian access, to be cut off for 20 weeks would be a ridiculous

There is clearly a case here of residents needs. They are being put in a very difficult position.
