As a fellow marching band member who knows first hand how much hard work and dedication is required to put a show together, I personally agree that marching band should be eligible for PE credit and exemption.

At my school the credits for band and colorguard are a split credit. We get half a credit for PE and half a fine arts credit each year.

At my high school marching band is counted as a P.E credit.

I think that marching band, when taken seriously, can be even more physically exhausting in that 7 minute show than some “sports”.

Band is a PE credit at my school and it’s a PE credit for a reason so yes, this band deserves to have it as a PE credit for all the hard work they go through.
