Both of my daughters did 4 years of marching band...way more physically demanding than any PE class they ever had to take!

Marching band is very demanding and it might not be track but it’s also very physically demanding. I believe the kids should get credit towards PE.

I always wishes for this while I was in high school. Our marching band was exteremly competitive, and throughout high school most of my days were taken up with marching practices. Please encourage students to be artistic AND athletic

I was in colorgaurd in high school and I did my physical activity in colorgaurd than I did in my PE class. We ran, we did push-ups, sit-ups, squats, planks, danced our butts off while running around a field either spinning/tossing a flag, rifle or saber. Not to mention the late night practices and Shows in the off season.

Any kid who performs in school marching band or sports should get PE credit. And, it you think that marching band doesn't really count, think again. My three sons participated in marching band through out high school and one of my sons played on the football team at the same time. He repeatedly would come home from marching band practice exhausted saying that band practice was much harder than football practice... Go figure!

Our marching band in TN already gives pe credit so I can only imagine how hard it must be to have to endure the physical aspects of both marching band AND pe on top of that!

This is so important. I can remember having to wake up at 5am to get to my 0 period PE class in 1995. I was so sleep deprived as a teenager. Taking sleep from teenagers at this point in their lives is just cruel and does have a longer term impact on their bodies. I’m blown away that MH still doesn’t allow marching band to get PE credit.
