My district in TX allows even freshmen to join marching band for a PE credit, so I don't see why not here?

Possibly take first two yrs PE and then two yrs Band for PE. I did not read the full proposition maybe that is what is proposed

We really need this. Those band students work really hard and are MOVING! (which is the most important thing about lifelong physical fitness). This is a very (no brainer) request.

It's hard to believe that in a day and age where the social estrangement of children is becoming a real issue to safety on campus, that a program such as this would be at risk. I have lived in Morgan HIll 22 years and have THOROUGHLY enjoyed not only the Emerald Regime performances, but I've enjoyed talking to and have been impressed by the maturity and balance of every Sobrato and Live Oak band member student I've met. These children should not be at risk for losing credit for participation in such a positive program.

My kids attended a private school in San Jose where the marching band kids received PE credit. They deserve it for their commitment, both time-wise and physically.

My school marching band was never supported by the district because the sports teams were the main focus. Marching band takes a lot of physical work so I 100% agree

Marching band counts for my PE credit and I believe it should in any and probably EVERY school. It’s hard work.

This is a good idea. Marching bands work just as hard if not harder than sports. My school gets a PE credit if you’re in marching band. Doing PE and then going to band practice is SO PHYSICALLY EXHAUSTING. No one really understands the amount of work we do. Appreciate your band program enough to respect their time and their efforts.

As a student currently in marching band and just cimpleteled all of my required gym credits (and some) I can with 100% say that not only does it provide the varied excersize but you do way more and HAVE to work harder in marching band vs gym.

This is a thing for my school, and I think it should be for all. The marching band works just as hard as any other sports team or PE class!

Marching Band Deserves to be a PE credit, I do more in MB than PE!!

We have it as a Pe crédit at our school and it’s only fair for you to have it too! Plus Scientist have shown that people in marching band have the same physical stress put on them like in football and a marathon.
