it’s more distracting to sit through a class and be miserable because of the heat than it is to be surrounded by people in tank tops

It's very frustrating that we have to wear a sweater over our tank tops or dresses. Girls get hot and sweaty too!

The dress code implies that a girls education is less valuable than a guys education because we have to miss our classes once being dress coded so that boys don't get distracted during their classes. Why do we still have this rule that shames girls into hiding and covering their bodies

Shoulders are not promiscuous. They are not something that is sexualized. Everyone has shoulders. It is just something attaching your arm to your shoulder and doesn't need to be covered.

If staff can show shoulders why can't female students? Very agrivating to have staff enforce dress code when they don't themselves.

Plus take a look at what the stores are selling for these high schoolers these days before making the dress code. I believe the dress code needs to be re-evaluated. Get with the times. How about teaching others to concentrate on academics vs shoulders or legs?

I just persona feel its a little to discriminatory towards girls, I as a young man understand there have to be restrictions because in any juncture there is still the potential for distraction. However, essentially punishing young females, for the presumed actions of the opposite sex shouldn't be resorted to as the answer. I feel we should delve into the possibility of allowing some of these articles of clothing, especially on some of the shirts that reveal shoulders, because that is only distracting if the intent is to do so.
