The city council finally greenlit the construction of our new skatepark. My kids will finally have a safe place to ride without being chased away, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this space a reality.

Final supporters
We, the citizens of San Diego, collectively recognize the imperative need for a skatepark in Pacific Beach.
The community of young kids and teens skating within the pacific beach area has grown exponentially in the last year, these impressionable youths desire a skate park, a place where they are not moved along by security and police. Skateboarding has been proven in university studies to improve physical health and promote positive mental health. Following it’s olympic inclusion, we will see some of San Diego’s very own residents compete on a world stage for the gold medal in the summer of 2021.
Furthermore, a skatepark in view of the ocean would provide an added tourist attraction as well as a potential venue for large events such as Street League skateboarding or X-Games.

Watching the count climb reminds me of the afternoons I spent dodging security guards while trying to practice in beach parking lots. We need to hit that one thousand mark to show the city that our kids deserve more than just being told to leave. Please send the link to your neighbors so we can force them to pay attention.

Reaching one hundred signatures shows me that I am not the only one tired of watching our kids get pushed out of the neighborhood concrete. Seeing this level of interest for a proper skatepark in the beach area proves that our community wants to invest in these skaters.

100% YES! PB should have been home of the first legal skatepark. I grew up in PB and have been skating it's streets, alleys and boardwalk to this day since 1984.
We also need a simple pump track. Needs 1/4 the area and kids of all ages have more fun than explainable. Check out the one off the 76 fwy. 5 yo little girls safely sharing the track w pro skaters.
Pb has a big skate community that suffers from having to skate private property and get in trouble because there is no skatepark around. A park in pb would solve this problem and keep teens occupied.
PB is one of the skate capitals of the world, there needs to be a park in order for kids to have a safe place to skate as well as to protect pedestrians and tourists on the board walk
I fully support a skatepark in our community. Real estate may be a hangup in making this happen, there are miles and miles of open park space on mission bay which could easily be used for a skate park :)
