We ,citizens of Southport,put on record our deep and lasting appreciation of the heroic efforts on our behalf of the local NHS, its staff and care workers during the Covid pandemic, are dismayed that the government cannot find a way of improving their future pay by more than 1% ,recognise that this is strongly felt by people regardless of political views or background and therefore call upon our local representatives, particularly our MP, to help reverse this decision and take all practical means to do.

The silence from our local representatives suggests they are hoping this issue will simply go away on its own. It is time to turn up the pressure by calling their offices directly to demand a meeting about this pay cap. Please post this link to your Facebook feed and email your MP today asking for their official stance.

The momentum we have built proves that our community refuses to let the hard work of our nurses and care workers go unrecognized. Email your local MP today to demand they address this pay injustice immediately.

Clapping doesnt pay the bills. The NHS have worked so hard and risked their lives everyday - give them a proper pay rise- maybe the same %age as MPs???
After the care Boris received for Covid 19 and the birth of his children the Royal family have also seen first hand. The nurses deserve a much higher pay rise. The house of commons should have their food drink expenses stopped. All mps and cllrs have pay frozen as they have had rise after rise each year.
The money funnelled to failing Test & Trace would fund a 25% pay rise for nurses. This measly 1% is a political decision that needs to be reversed like the school meals one.
They deserve a pay rise the 1% increase is an absolute insult after all they have done and are doing through this crises. Hang your heads in shame all you at Westminster
After working in the NHS for 37 years I know the demands on nursing staff are vast, but I can’t imagine how the staff of all levels have coped in the last 12 months (and still counting ), I take my hat off to them, but it is recognition they need for hard work continued in adversity, for lives being lost whilst doing that work and the fact they still continue on. If the PM didn’t have so many vanity projects then all N.H.S. workers would get the salary that they rightly deserve. It’s about time our M.P. for Southport listened to his constituency and made his voice heard, where it counts, in the House of Commons.
I'm a band 3 nursing assistant. I am on 19.7 k p.a. It's a crap wage. I have to deliver fast food as a part time job to get through the month. I am tired all the time with the long hours i HAVE to put in. Disgusted with this lousy corrupt government. I absolutely HATE them, and i mean HATE them!

We've got to pay our nursing staff and healthcare workers fairly (ie so they can afford to pay their bills and have a decent standard of living). Time for Mr Moore to take a stand?
