As a Member of the Returned Services League Australia, and a Military Historian, I believe that
Patrick Gallagher went beyond the call of duty, and should have some recognition for his heroism.

I arrived (age 19) in New York in June 1966. During the following eight years I returned to the US several times to visit cousins and friends some of whom did tours in Vietnam; some returned safely, others returned psychologically damaged and others did not return at all. Each time I returned to Scotland where I live. After 50 years I remember them all each day of my life and I still cry for them. Remember this boy!
