My two granduncles died in Flanders in 1915. My father was a medic and saw combat in the Congo. I admire the courage of Patrick Gallagher.

I am from Dublin, Ireland and it is of great pride that I served with the United States Marine Corps. Having read about Patrick Gallagher going back to 1999. His actions in Vietnam are truly heroic and above approach. I think it would be a Great Honor to have a US Navy named after him and that legacy lives on. Thank You. Sincerely Jamie Whyte USMC 1995-1999 Corporal Of Marines 0311 USMC Infantry Second Battalion Eight Marines America's Battalion

I also heard the documentry, what a brave young man. It would be a great honor both to Bob as well as to Ireland. Tell your friends about the petition, let's get this done.

I think it would be a fitting honor for an emigrant who gave his life for the freedom of the people of the United States that the US Navy name a ship after him.

I just heard a documentary on Patrick Gallagher on RTE Radio 1. I never heard this story before. I was gripped. I absolutely think that he deserves a ship to be named after him. Pleas add my name to your petition. Thank you. R.I.P.
