I heard of Patrick's heroic story on Irish radio. As an Irishman living abroad i think this would be a fitting way to honour all Irish that died in the Vietnam war

Other Navy Cross recipients have had ships named after them as well as at least one British Prime Minister. Name a ship the USS Patrick Gallagher.
