As an elected member of Mayo County Council I'm proud that the local authority of the county of Patrick Gallagher's birth has unanimously supported a motion from Cllr. John Cribben to support this cause. Patrick deserves to be honoured as a true Mayo hero.

I hope the ship will be based in San Diego, California where I lived for 40 years and where I knew many good men of Irish birth and decent in both the Navy and Marie Corp. Semper Fi.
