Ask not what you can you for "your"country.......To fight and die for the USA when the you man had just immigrated from a sleepy rural village in the west of Ireland. What an inspiration.

Heard the story of Bob Gallagher this evening on radio 1,fascinating and devastating for his family at the time, it would be a fitting way to remember a remarkable young man for his bravery

As an ex Irish Army Soilder and one who has served overseas with U.N. in Lebanon in 1978. I believe the naming of a ship in Honour of Cpl Patrick Gallagher is right and fitting as a mark of respect to him and all Irishmen who died in the Vietnam War.

Have great pleasure in signing this petition in memory of Patrick Gallagher and in memory of my fathers oldest brother John Regan who was killed in the battle of the somme 29th September 1918 also in the American army, and a native of Ballaghaderreen.

Just heard the story about this young man who is the same age as myself. It made me feel so proud as an Irishman at his courage and his sacrifice. His unselfish heroism on saving the lives of his own "Band of Brothers" is humbling. May he rest in peace.

Patrick Gallagher USMC, NC selfless sacrifice is well deserving of recognition especially at this time of self interest and negativity.
