Pat Gallagher, a foreign national, has his name on the Wall. I'm a Vietnam Vet who thinks it deserves to be on a U.S. Navy destroyer.

CPL Gallagher displayed outstanding heroism in Vietnam. Can you imagine what went through his mind in shielding his buddies when he jumped on a grenade, only later to be killed by the enemy. I know the area well where he comes from as my wife grew up a few miles away in Shrule, Co. Mayo. The men of the "West" have always been brave through the centuries. God Bless him and may he rest in peace, Amen.

As sons of a WWii Marine who fought in 3 of the worst pacific battles it is a honor to be part of the petition. May God have mercy on the soul of Patrick Gallagher and all who have sacrificed. Semper Fi

Spread the word of this worthwhile effort to get the Navy to name a DDG class ship after this green card carrying Irish immigrant.Corporal Patrick Gallagher. He was killed in action 50 years ago and was awarded the Navy Cross.

I have known others from Ireland who served in Viet Nam with the USMC. Both my uncles served in the U.S. Army in WWII following my grandmothers move from Ireland. This ship will honor Patrick Gallagher and countless others.
