SUCCESS! The USS Gallagher was officially named this morning!

This man more than deserves this honor and his status as a non-american born marine should make the decision even easier. Our entire country was founded by immigrants.....put his name on the boat.

I am a former Marine myself and would love to see this ship named for a Navy Cross winner.

As an American I petition that Patrick be honored accordingly and deserves such honor. When he chose to fight and defend our country apparently being a non- American wasn't an issue because he was allowed to serve. He defended and protected his comrades, our country and died for our country. Let's not forget this.

He fought side by side with fellow Americans, image ant or not. He deserves the recognition.

Please consider the request. I was a Marine in Vietmam in 1969 and 1970. It matters little where he was born. He lived and died as a Marine.

I feel this marine deserves this medal let's honor him. Now

As a veteran of U.N. missions to Congo and Cyprus where I served as a photographer over and above normal duties and hours, I appreciate the sacrifices of members of the Forces, and would like to see Corporal Patrick "Bob" Gallagher honoured.
