Patrick Gallagher is symbolic of the thousands of Americans of Irish ancestry who willingly gave their lives in the service of their adopted country.

Corporal Gallagher's actions uphold the finest traditions of bravery and selflessness of the Corps. Awarding him The Medal of Honor is appropriate -- anything less is an injustice!

Acknowledge Ireland's continued contribution to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corp., and the U.S. Coast Guard., seen more recently at 9/11 and recruitment in defence of the american way of life. Thank You.

Please keep faith with the best & brightest of our military men. Corporal Gallagher is the type of role model that we want our sons to emulate. The selflessness & devotion to our nation born or adopted.

I urge the sec. of the Navy to name a DDG class after the corporal. Thanks.

I served 67&68 at Phan Rang during TET. I think to name a ship is a great thing. Some of us made it back to get booed etc. This is the least they could do for his service.

I think naming the ship after Corporal Gallagher would be a very noble gesture.

This would be a wonderful tribute to such a courageous soldier. Just a note - my father was from the County of Cork, Ireland. He came to the States thru Canada with 3 of his brothers.

The Irish have always answered this Country"s Call with Honor in the spirit of the Great Fighting Irish. let the ship be named after Patrick Gallagher patrolled the seas as a force for good as he was.
