As a co organizer of the petition with Marius I was very happy to see the petition counter exceed the 2000th mark in the final days of 2014. We hope to have 5000 signatures by the end of 2015.

Am from kenya and patricks story really drew my attention because of his courageous acts of heroism. The least the U.S Navy can do is to honour Patrick by naming the ship after him. He was a true hero

I wish a US Destroyer be named after Patrick Gallagher. My first cousin James "Jimmy" Mulrennan from Boston was a US Marine in Vietnam 1966 to 1967. He survived but died in a Boston car crash in November 1968 aged 25 years.
