The ship to be commissioned, I hope, the USS Gallagher is likely a destroyer. Those little warriors are named for individual heros in the U.S. armed forces. My mother was born in Co. Mayo In a small community known as Furnace, not far from Westport. Thus, it is of added interst to me to see a young hero from my mother's neighborhood recognized for such selfless, courageous bravery.
