Honor this Marine, please! He gave his life in defense of this country. If we can name a combat vessel after a cowardly, dishonorable Congresswoman who never served, and is best known for her efforts to circumvent the Constitution, we absolutely owe it to men and women who gave everything, to honor their names.

My great-grandfather, Patrick Gallagher, emigrated from County Donegal in the late 1800s. This Patrick Gallagher deserves to have this ship, from his new country, named after him due to his concern for his military comrades and his service to his country.

My parents were born in Ireland. They moved to the U.S. and loved this country too. Patrick Gallagher gave his life for our country at a time when it was not the popular thing to serve in the military. He makes me proud to be of Irish descent.

Wholeheartedly agree with this petition. In many previous situations "Bob" would have been awarded the Medal of Honor and a deserved ship making notoriety. Please correct these oversights by honoring this petition. Jim O'Hagan, 1st generation American, also lead by a brave Irishman.
