Mr Mears' removal appears arbitary, lacking due process and absent any form of structured appeal. This is manifestly wrong and Mr Mears should continue trading until a properly constituted investigation is conducted and concluded.

I really can't believe that the management company can be so petty. Mr Mears was there when I was growing up and is an integral part of the market. Maybe the jobs worth need to look at the needs of the stall holders instead of making an old man whose family have always been a part of an historical of Brighton. All I can say is shame on you!

The council need to use Pat as an inspirational figure to the many people who find an excuse to work and live of the state. Leave him be to continue what serving the local community. Stopping him will have a big effect on him both physically and mentally. The council should be ashamed.

I remember going to the open market as a child when it was a proper market and it would be such a shame if one of its original business was no more. Reinstate his licence now

I’ve been going to the open market since I was a young child.. pat is a really lovely very honest happy gent who loves his job very much.. if anything he is by far the best grocer around... I truly pray he is able to stay ❤️

Outrageous...what is wrong with you council workers. Dont you have anything better to do than chastise a man who has served the community for many years. His good out weighs his bad. Why take away someones livilihood and a service that works for the community. Personally i think its discrimination..all around our city people offend with parking...they pay the fine and thats it. Please reconsider your actions.
