This is a disgraceful way to treat such a hard working, honest man. The parking issue is just an excuse. Surely finding a suitable parking place for Pat was the logical and helpful thing that should of happened. They were far too quick with that end of licence form and the original immediate termination of being able to trade just appalling. Make this stop. I for one won't set foot in The Open Market again knowing how it is run if this happens.

Take it to the Mayor & right down through the council chair warmers offices & to the press / radio / sounds like Pat should have a blue badge anyway - Also Pat can have a relative apply for the licence & he can still be there. Don't those small minded clerks no that the law is a flexible being - and it's basis is in HUMANITY - moreover parking is a separate entity to a Traders Licence … Take it to CAB as well - Pat has got up at 4am for 60 years and loaded tons / packed it & got home late, year in & out. DISGRACEFUL action by nobodies who cannot even interpret the law or construe it's boundaries. FIGHT - Good Luck Pat & Y'all

The Open Market has depended on Ray and people like him while the council and other businesses abandoned them. Now there’s some money it, let the poor chap keep his place.

The Means have been an integral part of the Open Market for all of my life. Please don't sweep away the old in the name of progress. Without this family and the trade they brought to the Market, who knows where it would have been today!!!!!

All too often people refer to others as a drain on the system. This guy still wants to work and why not ?? Probably keeps him going and many others as i bet he knows all his regulars.
He does more of a service to community than just selling stuff from his stall !

a stalwart chap. a stalwart stall - warts and all. it goes both ways, though, and ignoring warnings isn't exaclty helpful, now is it? but it's nut to crack it this way and crackers to nut him in the whatsits. should be sorted in a conciliatory, civilised fashion. an appalling outcome if the decision is allowed to stand.

About time the small traders were acknowledged for the good they do the community. Losing his business over a parking issue is not ac ceptable

Ive shopped at this family greengrocers for over 10 years. It would be a terrible shame to loose this independent trader over something as relatively unimportant as parking violations.

This sounds very strange, it would be interesting to know if his parking there has caused problems for other people or has he been repeatedly warned. Either way, it makes me wonder if this is some underhand method of gentrification, and in a skint area like London Road that is not going to be welcome

This is an honest hard working man. I love his fruit and vegetable market stall, preferring it to anywhere else. He has difficulty walking and there by for fortune goes anyone.
