This is especially important for junior year, when kids can take several AP and honors classes and significantly boost their GPA before applying to colleges. Watching all the hard-earned 3rd quarter grades go from As and Bs to meaningless Ps was so deflating for our kids.

Our kids are working all day online in this very difficult time. They deserve credit and to keep their GPa for the work they are doing.

Please give our kids the pass/fail policy they deserve and align with the competitive districts in our area.

Sewickley academy is another area school not doing pass fail. We have to compete against these schools, and we are deemed an affluent district, even if 10% of kids qualify for free lunch. This hurts Lebo, just like it’s lack of AP humanities selections at lower grades has hurt Lebo for years. Why be the outlier? How does this help us?

I think Mt. Lebanon should stay in line with other schools in the area. I think the kids should get the benefit of their hard work and especially those taking AP and honors classes should reap some benefits!

I really hope that Mt. Lebanon Administration strongly considers the points that are made in the presentation that was not allowed at the school board meeting. I understand that we are in unprecedented times, and the Administration at the time thought that they were doing what was in the best interest of the students. Clearly things have changed and schools are adjusting to ensure they provide their kids with the best possible education and reflection of the hard work the students have done throughout the entire year, not just the last 10 weeks.

There are only 7 semesters for the college's to evaluate a kid. As each semester goes by, it is harder to pull up the GPA bc of the cumulative effect. Going pass/fail hammers the 2022 and 2023 kids who started their HS career a bit slow but got it going in year 2 and 3.

This is an important topic. The current policy hurts our kids. But it's an easy fix. The school board should address this with the administration ASAP.

I hope the school board takes this opportunity to revisit and change the current grading policy. My son worked extremely hard this year and in Q3 to receive no points towards his QPA in the 2nd semester.
