CoWork is a fantastic local initiative helping to boost local businesses. The grant itself is helping local creative and cultural businesses get off their feet, putting them in a space surrounded by other local startups whose knowledge is then shared, which will help foster a stronger local economy & community.

Without CoWork Newtown, our start-up would not have been as successful as we have been so far. The space and location has been critical to our ability to see clients and hire employees. The mentoring and work culture that they have developed has helped us in so many ways and means that all our staff are keen to come into the office. Thank you CoWork Newtown!

Co-Work newtown is an engaging and inspiring work space for creative businesses. It offers a convenient and affordable space to work in the heart of Sydney's cultural postcode - 2042. As a parent with a preschool aged child, having the rare opportunity to run my own business in a professional setting on a part time basis is imperative to my ability to connect with artists in Sydney and third party stakeholders who are interested in supporting the arts projects that I run. Already I have begun to make new contacts through my connections with CoWork Newtown which will benefit my business, and consequentially the many Sydney artists that I work with. Being able to host meetings in a purpose built meeting space has genuinely raised my confidence and my reputation. I recently gained a new work contract after hosting a meeting at CoWork Newtown and had I not had the opportunity to work and host meetings at the space, I probably wouldn't have had the confidence to set the meeting up in the first place. The mentors available through CoWork are outstanding and after one consultation with a mentor, I have clear plans in place and experiencing business growth. My core business involves work as a Curator, Consultant, Publicist and Project Manager working with street and urban artists in Sydney and this initiative not only benefits me - it benefits a broader stable of 60+ artists in Sydney - and a number that continues to grow now that I am at CoWork Newtown.
