I am hopeful that the plan for rezoning does not materialize. This area does not need any apartments nor commercial ventures.

Please do not rezone for apartments and commercial buildings. The traffic congestion would be terrible! Let's keep our community as it should be with single family homes. I vote no to rezoning.

I am not in favor of rezoning this area for the purpose of constructing a high rise or any other commercial property.
Dividing the two neighborhoods and closing Patmore would only hinder the current residents and property owners. Traffic has increased in the area over the past several years. Patmore currently offers the neighborhood residents two options for ingress/egress into the area during the rush hour traffic on both Whitten and Mullins. To take away this option and the construction of a high rise apartments/ commercial use development would hurt the residents of the neighborhood by reduced property values, stress in dealing with an increased volume of traffic, an increase in neighborhood crime, and many more aspects. Shelby Farms offers the sense of a relaxed, scenic, rural setting while still being inside a large city. To rezone this area for apartment/commercial use would change all of those aspects of the park and surrounding area. The need for restuarants, eateries, coffee shops, etc. brought about by this development and subsequent developments which will surely follow in time, if allowed, would further impact the neighborhood and serenity of Shelby Farms in a negative way. The area is surrounded by existing restuarants and other commercial use properties in close proximity on Mullins, Whitten, Sycamore View, Walnut Grove/Humphrey and Germantown Parkway. There is no need for additional such places in this particular area except to be used by a developer as a selling point to those that aren't familiar with this area.
Rezoning of this area for apartment/commercial use would bring about a negative impact on Shelby Farms and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Shelby Farms is a peaceful place. Putting a huge mall right across the street will only bring in more crime.

There is already enough "mixed use" areas around us. Traffic would be worse. Would cause an increase in crime for our area.

The LAST thing we need is more apartments and "mixed used" development. There are already too many in this area. There is no way putting more of this type of buildings would complement our area.

Stop developing that area. Apartments bring crime to nice areas!
