The development of this facility with the accompanying density is in direct opposition to the character of the neighborhood. The road system in the neighborhood is already overburdened. The growing attendance at Shelby Farms will exacerbate the current problems.

Do not block the sky! If ya cookware this to Central Park then also look at the protests and pending legislation to stop the blocking of direct sunlight by high rise buildings around a park.

"..complement the vision of the Shelby Farms Park Conservatory"?? What a steaming pile of BS. Bob Turner and Doug Windham are just 2 more greedy developers with low consciousness and no clue about what constitutes natural balance. And I'm sure if you explained it to them, they wouldn't care. If you live on the planet and use the resources, you have to pay rent. That means conservation and preservation of what little there is left.

There is already a traffic issue in this area in the mornings and evenings after work. Why destroy a beautiful area and add more people which would add more problems such as more traffic issues, possibly more crime in an area where crime has increased which will lower property values? Please reconsider this rezoning and high rise apartment development because it is a horrible idea for the residents of this area.

The development of apartment complexes and businesses in the area would increase traffic cause for widened roadways along the farm and the rate of crime seems to be increasing the area and apartment and more living facilities seems to bring higher crime, if not immediate then it will down the road. As crime increases with the number of people. Shelby farms is safe and has a secure feeling. That would all be taken away.

I grew up in Memphis right off Macon Road and I visited Shelby Farms alot to see the bison, do the trails, and riding my bike around that pond they have there. To see some of this land going away to build some apartment trash is disgusting. I may not live in Memphis anymore but to see it get torn down even further than it already ready is sickens me. That city is going to hell in a handbag. At least try to keep some beauty in it, there isn't much left in that city. So glad I left there.

At a time when Memphis are confiding de- annexing Cordova and Hickory Hill why do they feel the need to build another complex that will ruin the character of the Shelby Farms area. Once they have built apartments for approx, 1200 transient families and brought the types of problems they bring will they then just turn the problem over to the County? I'm also interested to know what kind of " incentives" are the individuals and politicians receiving for this development

I am NOT in favor of the proposed Parkside at Shelby Farms rezoning. I live in this area and do not want my property values to decrease and my commute time to increase. But, more importantly, I am heartsick at the prospect of a planned development spoiling the bucolic views surrounding our beautiful park. When Memphis is known for making every negative list published, why would we want to degrade a community treasure that earns us top marks for something positive???
