Introduce Parking Permits in Hollingdean Terrace, Roedale, Dudley and upper Hollingdean Roads,

We have a baby and it is very important to have a space for us. It's been ALWAYS difficult to park around here!

A lot of vehicles parked are council workers who arrive at half past five looking for parking spaces ,and waking up residents By reving their engines and having their car radios blaring. So when we take the car for shopping, etc, we have to double park because we cannot park legally because most of the spaces are taken and the council workers who have taken the other spaces don’t usually finish the work until about twelve thirty onwards. Then across the road there is a repair garage with a constant flow of large vans and cars always double parked. So when the mechanics have fixed the vans or cars they go into any available spaces and those done on a Friday evening are left over the week end so no spaces there. I’m a pensioner and have resources and can’t afford to move but I would definitely try and find the money to pay for residential parking. At least I would hopefully ha e a chance of parking near my house.

I have lived in Dudley Rd for 19 years and i am outraged to what has happened to this community since you have made it a free parking zone for anybody to park here and informing people on your website !! we cannot park in our road because you the council ! have done nothing. why because of the council workers who work in Hollingdean recycling yard and now the works in Lewes Rd. I have seen first hand people living in vans and leaving there daily rubbish left on the roads. The people who live here want to take pride and then you get these other people who dont care about our community. How about we start doing this in your community or even better outside your home. We come home from a long day at work to find we cannot even park in our road wich we pay TAX for , what a joke! Please please this has to be addressed. This is only going to get worse.

This needs to be brought in ASAP as parking now is impossible! So many others are now using our roads to park in who don’t even live there!

I have lived in Dudley Road practically all my life and I am so stressed every day at not being able to park. We have had several parking tickets when we have had to park on the yellow lines if we go out In the evening. It's time this got sorted so we can feel relaxed again and actually feel that we can go out without having to worry about parking. We are considering moving as we feel we are being pushed to do so.

It is absurd that residents are having to ask for permits so they can park in their own streets/roads, this partially due to the permit zones that have been implemented in the surrounding area - it’s rubbish! On the topic of which, the staff at the rubbish centre should park on site and not on our streets! THE BIGGEST ISSUE HERE IS THAT THE RESIDENTS NEED TO GET 1000 SIGNATURES TO EVEN BE HEARD, WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!! The council need to pull their fingers out and be realistic about the requirements of the residents paying for the streets and the area!

it's so difficult to find a parking space on roedale road after work. i always need to park so far away from home and walk a long way with my little one. the commercial car park in front of my house always carry household rubbish, to be honest it make me feel depressed everytime when i open the curtain and a van of rubbish sit in front of you.

i have been emailing the council for two years, also reporting abandoned vehicles to the police, only to be told from the council they can not do anything about the situation, what they mean is, they do not intend to as it is the council workers car park,and students dumping ground,as for the glazing vans, what about the tree surgeons, the list is endless,as for the garage on roedale road that is a joke, vehicles here for days leaking oil, flat tyres,etc,etc, making the area look run down,had enough,been here 20 years,seriously thinking of moving away,council are a absolute joke.

Parking permits Much needed in this area, three streets up have it and we get all the overspill .

The roads are being used for vans and dumped vehicles. Something needs to be done. The council have created this by allowing resident parking in the surrounding area.

I live on Dudley Road and the issue with parking has become unbearable. Workers and commuters who use the road as a car park, those who need somewhere to park their camper-vans because they're too tight to pay for secure storage! and students who are advised not to bring cars to the city but are advised on the council website which areas are permit free (i.e. here) all compound the issue. I'm aware that parking permits do not mean you will have a space outside your house, but to be able to go out in the evening and know I can park somewhere within a reasonable walking distance would be a small ask. Come on Brighton council, do something.

I hope change can be made. I don’t think the council want to support it because of the council depot.

Parking is terribke and with a small child it is not helpful

Parking is awful where I live on Hollingdean terrace and I have a baby So most of the time I’m parked on a different street which is a nightmare with a young child and food shopping

I moved here from Shaftesbury Road where parking 3 streets away was common - with the extension of the Zones around here, commuters park here all day, and I am having de ja vu!!!
