We the undersigned wish to have permit parking (light touch approach) introduced on Hallyburton Road, Hove, Sussex. Parking is highly problematic due to the road’s proximity to both Boundary Road and Portslade station. Many residents do not have private driveways and we have elderly citizens, young families and disabled members of the community affected. Portslade is a mainline station that services London and Littlehampton, encouraging commuters to park all day. This is besides constant overflow parking from Aldi and the busy shopping area of Boundary Road.
The daily struggle to find a space near home is wearing us all down. I am continuing to push the council for a response but the process is grindingly slow. Keep holding on because this situation remains unacceptable for everyone living on this street.

Seeing this level of support confirms what I have felt for a long time. People are genuinely tired of the chaos on our street and this momentum proves that we are finally being heard.

I would welcome any changes that enable our road to be used for residents parking rather than commuters, shoppers and esp now that most surrounding areas have restrictions leaving us squeezed and with little capacity

The parking restrictions in force on roads to the south of Hallyburton means our road has become a car park for shoppers and rail commuters, making parking for residents all but impossible. It is a residential road that badly needs controls put in place to allow the families that live here a fighting chance of parking within sight of their own homes.

We will be moving away from hallyburton road next month and a big part of our decision to move was the inability to park anywhere near our home. Parking controls are desperately needed. Between the commuters, Iceland vans and caravans that do not belong to anyone on the street, we can never park.

I live in Hallyburton road and can never park near my flat. Even the double yellow lines outside my flat is always occupied. Sometimes for days on end.

Free parking on Hallyburton is causing huge difficulties on this road. Commuters and staff/customers of nearby shops, regularly park all day. It is impossible to park anywhere near my house.
