Park at Mystic Oral School

There is no infrastructure in place to accommodate this scale---highway 1-95, water scarcity, sewer capacity. People from away do not obsere community needs, mores. See modern movement in urban design in Europe, tc. eseciall y in Bareclona---"My Perfect City" and Vermont "Front Porch". The scale of this proposal is all wrong for our tiny communities. The existing homes would be obliterated by this amount of traffic and new residents.

I say no more development. The roads can't handle the population now, and with the tourists, it is already too much.

This is certain to cause long-term negative affects on the environment and the people who live in our town. It sounds like there could be a better balance between development and nature.

The community needs to decide how to develop this wonderful property.

This hilltop property overlooking the Mystic River and visible from miles around should be protected from intensive development.

I live in Mystic for a number of reasons; dense development projects is not one of them!

We do not need or want this apartment complex.

I agree with the two items presented in this petition. We have to slow down a little bit and do more town long range planning. At least, let's do the preliminary work and open up the planning to the whole town, everyone to comment and share and advance ideas. Thanks for doing this.

P&Z decided a unique set of zoning rules for the MOS property were needed. I believe there are proposed regs, written by reps of the Respler developer, tailored to suit their vision of the development of the property, in play. If you don't think close to 1000 apts/condos/duplexs with night clubs and boutique hotels on the property is a proper use of the MOS, sign the petition and make your voices heard before the lawyers tell you the neighbors concerns about development don't count.

Better use and lower impact on the neighborhood. Would be a dream come true especially for the people directly impacted . What does citizens participation refer to ?

My husband and I live on Cow Hill Road and have been walking the Oral School property daily for the past 10 years. Since the State of CT has released the property to the Respler Group, the rate of decline in the condition of this property demonstartes gross mismanagement by this developer. The vandilism and state of disrepair of the buildings and grounds is so egregious, how can they be trusted with the multi-million dollar project they have proposed. It is our impression, that they have not dealt in good faith as stewards of this remarkable and historical property. We strongly urge the Town to hold a Town-wide referendum regarding the use of this property. If you have not visited Oral School recently, we would encourage you to see for yourself and sign this petition.

A wonderful plead for saving a green space. As a botanist I endorse this proposal to think this out before it is destroyed. Thankyou Mr. Richards .
