They really don't know what they just did.... You have to know or have worked for this woman to know the dedication she has for working with kids. Take me for example, I'm a woman from Gary, in. Ms spears became my student teacher while i was in 3rd grade. Before I met her I was this angry child constantly. She took me under her wing & taught me things I never knew, and even now at age 28 continues to be my biggest role model. I'm a woman because of her who not only finished college, but has also traveled across the world. I say that to say this... I'm a woma from Gary, Indiana and I know if it had not been for her catching me at the age I was I probably would be just another Gary statistic. Education in America was once number "1" it is now number "14" against other countries, and it's because of things like this. Stop wondering why are youth are continuously declining in school when you take away their only hope!

Exceptional teacher in her past, and now an outstanding leader! My daughter is 22 years old and Spears was her 2nd grade teacher, my daughter looked up to Ms. Spears as a kid and still dose as a young adult. She is truly a roll model in my household!

I am grossly appauld. I have heard and seen teachers and admin alike do things that warranted disciplinary actions. Nothing..she gives a book and gets fired. So I guess no one in this district ever wore a cross or any religious symbol to work, or told someone God Bless You, I will pray for you, or my prayers are with you. Nice to know there is a place where everyone is perfect and she committed the worse infraction ever that caused her to loose her job. Thank goodness no one lies, back stabs, or criticises anyone. How dare she do such a despicable thing. Shame on you Ms. Spears. God Bless you...oops sorry... I forgot...

This school board should be ashamed. I say we as the taxpayers in DeKalb should fire everyone of them and start over with a new board. Let's let the school teachers in this district vote in a new board.
