We started common core, it is taking us hours to learn the common core way of doing things so we can explain it to our children. We could show them the simple, easy way to get the answer as we were taught, but then our children would be counted wrong on tests for doing it the non common core way.

I couldn't understand why my children were having such a difficult time in 2nd grade. I finally Sat in on their class and was shocked at what they were being taught. Once I learned about common core I realized what was causing all of their problems. They will not be returning to public school next year.
