This petition is to keep kindergarten paraprofessionals in the school system. Governor Christie is eliminating these very important influential people. I know this, because my mother happens to be one of these people. Teachers have come and gone, students have also come and gone. My mom has taught many teachers how to better connect with there students. Students who trick or treat and whom are now In high school still remember my mom and get excited when they see her. She has been in the school system now for over 23. The kids older then me still remember my mom and how she effected there lives. She paid attention to the "bad" kids as well as the "good" kids. I believe some things in life are more than money expenses. Christie is doing an unjust and unfair action by eliminating this very important role. She provides safety for the children and extra educational support. Such as center work that the teacher would not be able to adequately do without her. At this young crucial age having an extra set of eyes and ears helps the students have a warm and accepting place because they are receiving extra attention. This enables the children to feel more secure and better focused. If you ask any teacher they would whole heartedly agree. Any teacher will tell you that having a paraprofessional helps with planning curriculum, preparing paper work, and helps with more one on one while the teacher works in small groups. Having this amazing dynamic collaboration helps these children and develops a better foundation for the start of their educational career. For someone who preaches about the horrible people out there he should take a look in the mirror, because with power comes abuse of power. In a world where money is everything the children are the ones who will be hurting. So, Thank you Governor Christie for taking away my mothers passion and many like her which is, what is best for the children matters! If you agree please sign this petition.
I truly never imagined that so many people would care about this issue as much as I do. Seeing this kind of support for these essential professionals makes me realize just how much this cause belongs to all of you.

Ridiculous. These people do all the hard work in the classroom while the governor sits in his office and cuts budgets. Keep them!

What about the kids who need special help? They will just be left behind. Shame on this state.

Kindergarteners need extra attention. You cant expect one teacher to manage a whole room of 5 year olds alone.

I worked in schools for years and a good para is worth their weight in gold. Seriously do people not get how hard teaching is?
