The city pays 100% of Police and Fire. The Ministry of Health pays 50% of Paramedics wages. Yesterday I read in Sootoday that we have police sitting at Gore and Albert counting the driving infractions. There are web cams there so why would they put a car and an officer there. Paramedics save lives .....they deserve a contract and a fair rate of pay

Please stop wasting our valuable tax dollars and bargain in good faith. As a retired Paramedic of 33 years serving the Sault, I can assure you that the Paramedics have never been recognized as being under the umbrella of emergency services. The fire or police would not need to go to this extent to get a fair contract. We can not do without these valuable front line staff.

Without our paramedics you may not make it to the hospital to take your next breath or see your loved ones again. Let's hope you never have to experience a tragedy by not having a paramedic that could save your life or a loved one. Pay them what they deserve, a lot more than what you are willing to give them. Get with it City Hall.

Not paid the same as anywhere else in the province?! How is this justified? They risk our lives for us, equal pay for SSM paramedics is a must.

Why are the city Paramedics so far behind neighbouring paramedics on St Joesphs Island, Blind River and Thessalon? If the city is offering a fair contract should they make the same or more based on how busy they are?
