I'm writing an email to the Airport Manager at Dillingham Airfield in Mokuleia, Hawaii and would like to send as many signatures as I can to show support for our initiative to grant us access to fly Kealia again!

Updates

September 23, 2019

The silence from management is loud but we are not backing down. Call the airport office today to demand they address our access to Kealia. Keep pushing this link out to your flying groups so they cannot ignore our community any longer.

September 23, 2019

The momentum behind this effort to reopen access to Kealia is undeniable. Post this petition on your Facebook page and text three local pilots today to keep the pressure on the airport manager.

denying access is illegal at a federally funded airport. The airport manager has no say as to who can or can not land.

Visiting biggest free flying festival in a world at the moment, celebrating human desire to fly and come across this petition. 15000 people in a small village seem to enjoy every aspect of human flight why can’t we do that in Hawaii?

I support all sorts of flying, the air is a tremendously beautiful thing to discover. With more and more discovering flying be it in an airplane or an inflatable wing we must always remember to communicate with others and do our utmost to operate safely. You have my full support and I hope the airport can see the beautiful side of it and find a way to incorporate the flying needs of the local airmen and airwomen (pilots).

Don't regulate a sport without a thorough understanding of what you are regulating. Please take the time to have an open discussion about your concerns and I'm certain we can reach a mutually beneficial compromise.

I am a home owner in Mokuleia and paraglider pilot of more than 26 years in Hawaii and as a pioneer of paragliding at Dillingham I feel the manager of Dilligham airfield should continue to allow Para'Gliding' along with the other flying sports including sailplane 'gliding' to residents and visitors alike.

As the only P-5 Master pilot, Tandem Administer, Instructor Admin and 30 year USHPA member I'm disgusted that the FAA and an airport manager cannot in this day understand the difference between paragliding / Speed flying vs. base jumping. Are you kidding me? Get me a phone number or email and USHPA and I will do our damnedest to sort this BS out. Peter "Reaper" Michelmore USHPA # 63957
