We are a proud nation, an open nation, a welcoming nation, and we should never let human beings suffer this way.

We MUST be global citizens and be a caring, active host to those needing help. This is a crisis requiring our assistance now.

I am broken hearted. We need to show the compassion that we would like to experience should be ever be unfortunate enough to be in such desperate straits. This is not about religion, or country boundaries, this is about the right of every man woman and child on earth to live in safety and with dignity.

Canada MUST step up and do its share to ease the refugee crisis. Particularly because - under Harper - we have become belligerents in this conflict.

It's shameful that Canada hasn't acted sooner....let's remember what we stand for and take action now. We can inspire other nations to act faster. This Syrian boy is face down on a beach because his family was rejected for asylum in Canada!!!!!
