
SUPPORT THE "HIDDEN ARMY" OF YOUNG CARERS TODAY


Young carers are young people who look after someone in their family who has an illness, a disability or is affected by mental ill-health or substance misuse.
These young people take on practical and/or emotional responsibiliyes that would normally be expected of an adult.
Caring Roles can include:
Practical tasks e.g cooking, housework and shopping
Physical care e.g lifting,helping a parent on stairs
Personal care e.g dressing, washing and helping woth toileting need
Emotional support
Giving medication
Some parents don't recognise their child's caring role, While most young carers are not aware that they are Caring.
Some young carers have high levels of care and other have low frequent levels of care.
Either highor low levels of caring can impact heavily on a young person's emotional and mental health aswell as social life.
