We are aware that the UK government has made some progress in aiding developing countries with the issue of child soldiers but we feel they could be doing a lot more. It is sickening to think children our age are having to go through such trauma and they are not getting the rights they truly deserve met.
2,000,000 children over the last 10 years have died due to fighting in conflict which no child should ever have to face. This petition is to raise awareness to show that child soldiers is an important issue that needs to be helped.

I wake up every single morning thinking about the children whose lives are being stolen by these conflicts. Reading your messages alongside the signatures keeps me grounded because it proves that I am not the only one haunted by these photos. We are currently scouting for human rights groups that might help us get this directly in front of the people at the Foreign Office.

Seeing this grow makes me feel like we might actually stop the cycle of violence that steals the childhoods of so many innocent kids. I started this because I could not sit quietly while children are forced into combat, and knowing you are with me in this fight means everything.

the government needs to actually do something besides just talk. these kids are being robbed of their childhoods and it makes me sick.
this is absolutely heartbreaking to read. kids should be playing and going to school not holding guns. fix this now.
