I am opposed to the bridge in 87th Ave.

No bridges! Don’t ruin Palmetto Bays quiet, residential neighborhoods because of over building south of us!

I am opposed to the bridging of 87th AVENUE BETWEEN SW 164th St. and 163rd Terrace. Palmetto Bay and the bridging of any of the other streets, thank you. HonestyIntegrityRespect

This bridge makes no sense! Count the blocks, the bridge will only move the traffic problem northward by less than 20 blocks, disrupt an entire neighborhood, and for what, the improvement of maybe 2 minutes of commute time? And for what cost of taxpayer dollars? Work on the solving the real problem which is congestion on the main arterial highway: US-1

Please do not ruin quiet neighborhoods and streets. Bridges will only allow more traffic to pass by through our quiet streets and creating hazards, reducing safety, making it impossible to walk and does not solve the actual traffic problem, since it allows more traffic to pass by. The solution is to reduce the number of cars that go through our streets, not allow for more. I oppose ALL and ANY bridges in Palmetto Bay.

Unnecessary cost for a bridge that will add only a short distance to a route. A complete traffic plan is needed not just an isolated project.

Oppose bridging in PB. How does an unelected commissioner get away with this, without local input. Oppose her election, if she runs.

As much as I understand the need to create more avenues to get our neighbors to the south to get to their destinations in the north, it grieves me to think that now those folks will be plowing onto our street as they zigzag their way to points north.

This is a terrible idea and would be terrible for all of Palmetto Bay!!!

No to the 87 Avenue Bridge. The community should have the right to vote

There is no need to build this bridge. The amount of traffic will add to people “cutting” through our small village. Old Cutler, US1, 77th, 82nd, and 87th are already used as cut throughs. It will only add to congestion of our neighborhood where we pay high property taxes. As it is we cannot turn left onto 82 avenue without a light when it is rush hour. If the county wants to do something, then a quick fix is not a solution. It is a band aid. The realization will come when there are more car accidents, pedestrian accidents, and bike accidents. Please don’t find out the hard way with the death of our residents - especially children.

This issue has been gnawing at our community for many years. I live about 3 blocks north of the canal ON 87 Ave. hence this project will have a huge, negative effect. I have lived here for nearly 38 years. I have been an insurance fraud investigator for over 40 years. I can "smell a rat" a mile away. I smell one now. The county called an "emergency meeting" to pass this project. This is not an emergency. There was next to no prior notice to anyone. My gut tells me that someone on the county commission, possibly, Ms. Higgins, is "in bed" with a builder or someone else connected to the project, someone who will benefit financially. Have any traffic, environmental or loss of value impact studies been performed? I think not. Are we not trying to get cars OFF the road? This project will invite MORE auto traffic in an otherwise quiet neighborhood. It will not solve problems on US 1 or Old Cutler Road. It will ruin a nice neighborhood.
