I do not want a bridge built on 87 Avenue. As another petitioner stated, "this is a bridge to nowhere." Traffic will dead end on SW 141 Street. The village had to put a 4-way stop at SW 144 and 87 Ave because of the increased traffic and number of accidents. A bridge will only make that intersection worse with traffice backing up on both 144 street and 87 Ave. Building a bridge was brought before the Commission previously and the vote was "no." I have to question why this was brought up again, at the last minute, and without input from the community?

This bridge will not alleviate traffic, it will worsen the situation.

Traffic moving north on SW. 87th Ave. normally goes towards old Cutler, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables etc. Palmetto Bay should work with the county and the school board to put children on buses to avoid empty buses wasting taxpayer money and private cars clogging up the roads. Destroying a neighborhood, encouraging cars to drive a few blocks further before hitting US 1 is a total waste.

I strongly object to any bridging in Palmetto Bay . Increased traffic through our community will destroy our quality of life in Palmetto Bay. We have already had people close to being hit by cars around 77th avenue due to traffic speeding through the community. We love our children -we do not want our kids hurt -we do not want additional crime in our community -we do not want additional congestion in our community.
The congestion was created by Dade County issuing building permits without a proper infrastructure plan. One recommendation to ease this problem now would be to open the bus lines between Florida City and Dadeland during peak hours-this will give you two additional lanes to work as a relief. Do not bridge Palmetto Bay-no bridging in Palmetto Bay anywhere! do not destroy our community. No bridging in Palmetto Bay.

I adamantly oppose this redirection of traffic. The reason I relocated to Palmetto Bay from Coral Gables was the congestion of traffic and people cutting through the neighborhood in the mad rush to get to and from work. Do not damage our city by introducing this change. A more advisable release could alleviate traffic by coordinating traffic signals on US1. Most of this traffic is coming from the south due to the US1 congestion from non-coordinating traffic lights.

We are a quiet community where we want nothing to happen to our children because of the increase in traffic

No to any of the proposed Bridges- fail to see how a bridge resolves traffic issues- any resident whose lived here longer then five (5) minutes knows it won’t reduce congestion!

As a long time resident of Palmetto Bay I have personally witnessed the degrading of our quality of life and peaceful community caused by cut through traffic and traffic from communities further south. Adding additional bridges will only increase the traffic we already experience and at best would only provide a temporary solution to the problem. Rather than continuing to build more roads, bridges and tolls the county must take a comprehensive look at the busway, public transportation and development itself. We already have speed bumps everywhere, poorly designed roundabouts and regular accidents. STOP trying to send more cars through our community. Respect my life, protect our kids and find other solutions.

I strongly oppose any bridging in Palmetto Bay. You are ruining our Community by trying to bridge. With increased traffic, crime will continue to increase, becoming dangerous to our children and placing our wildlife in peril. You will destroy our Palmetto Bay community for your own political gain without thinking of the negative long term impact. Our community is already a congested area. Be a leader and implement a true solution But do not ruin Palmetto Bay by bridging. No bridging in Palmetto Bay -you’re going to ruin our community and adversely impact the wildlife, safety to her children and our property values.

I oppose the construction of any of these proposed bridges. It is has been shown time and again that building more roads, brings more traffic; it doesn't reduce congestion. How many people who want these bridges constructed have taken advantage of other modes of transportation??? Have you carpooled? Used metro-rail? Taken the ibus? Walked to a county bus stop? Ridden your bike to the Metrorail station and rented a bike locker? Taken a shuttle from Metro-Rail to your office? Over the 30 plus years we have lived in Palmetto Bay, my husband has done all of these and has reduced both his carbon footprint and commuting stress. All transportation options need to be exhausted before we open up our communities to more traffic.

I have lived on 87 Ave for 26years. Please do not force me to move. I have already had several pets killed on 87Ave and can’t imagine what it would be like with a bridge. Please vote NO.
