Lack of speed enforcement makes 87th ave south of 168 the most dangerous (and littered) street in Palmetto Bay. After 9PM it becomes a speedway. A bridge will make it worse.

This bridge will bring more traffic and unsafe conditions for residents who love to walk through our peaceful streets. We oppose to this bridge.

Bridges, highways and traffic thru our quiet neighborhoods will destroy our way of life - our village will be cut in two!

We didn't vote for County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins. NOR will we. A traffic bridge across 87th avenue changes the quality of life for ALL residents North of the bridge, not just those on or near 87th avenue. ALL Palmetto Bay residents from SW 136 Street South will be impacted. Just Google or Waze a route North from 87th avenue and SW 163 Terrace during peak traffic times. This will show you where ALL of that traffic will be routed. The traffic apps will spread all those vehicles out to ALL of the neighborhoods. Will 87th avenue be widened? If so, how? Will all of the mature trees go if they widen the street(s) to accommodate the bridge traffic? What will be done with the four way stop intersection at 87 Avenue and 155 Terrace? Will they put a signal light there or one of the poorly designed round-a-bouts? There is already a traffic problem with South bound vehicles running the stop sign. Ask Palmetto Bay police who are often at that intersection handing out tickets to commuters in a rush. MARSHA MATSON, WHERE ARE YOU? You came to my front door asking for my vote. You stuck one of your signs in my front yard. We trusted you and voted for you. You gave me your word that you were against building a bridge on 87 avenue and that YOU WOULD DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO STOP/KEEP THE BRIDGE FROM BEING BUILT. WELL, WHERE ARE YOU NOW?

It seems this was defeated back in 2017 and they just keep coming back and back. No bridges over any of our canals in Palmetto Bay, period. They need to know we will not allow this and one commissioner who probably has a special interest cant be allowed to start destroying the last neighborhoods that are peaceful and nice. So many areas around here are already traffic dangerous and they try and soften the blow, by putting speed humps, lights and traffic circles. The traffic, crime and property values will be destroyed. I cant see this happening with so many that love their home and Palmetto Bay.

Further development in and south of Palmetto Bay is changing the life style that people live here for. Developers should not be allowed to change neighborhoods for their own self interests. Stop this now!

We live a block west of where the proposed bridge would open onto 87th Avenue. My family and neighbors remain very much opposed to the bridge, just as we were in 2017 WHEN THIS EXACT PROPOSAL WAS REJECTED! We paid a substantial amount of money to live in this neighborhood precisely because of the lack of traffic, which allows our children to play outside safely. The bridge will adversely affect our neighborhood by decreasing property values, increasing traffic, and increasing the risk of harm to our children. Moreover, my "Ring" electronic doorbell app is always alerting me to crime, shootings, and robberies in the neighborhoods just south of the proposed bridge. Why would we want to make our safe neighborhoods more accessible to the areas where high crime is occurring? WE CONTINUE TO HIGHLY OPPOSE THE BRIDGE, WHICH (1) WILL NOT SOLVE THEIR TRAFFIC PROBLEM AND (2) WILL CREATE NEW PROBLEMS FOR US Talk about a Lose-Lose proposal.

This will not solve the problem. All it does is make residential streets that weren’t built for this less safe. At some point the traffic will end up back on old cutler or US1. That is where the solution needs to be. Filtering it through residential areas just pushes the problem into more areas. Why do we have to ruin our neighborhood for southern development?? I moved out of coral gables for this reason, every street is a cut through and unsafe.

I feel the bridge only moves the problem farther north and makes traffic more concentrated where 87 Ave dead ends at 141 ave. Why not utilize the busway to alleviate traffic? Open it one way north in the morning rush hours and one way south in the evening rush hours. Seems a more equitable solution for all residents of Palmetto Bay.

The bridge will severely degrade the neighborhood quality of life, and safety

How can one commissioner decide when or where a bridge is to be built that affects an entire community? Where does the appointed commissioner live?

I am completely opposed to the bridges. Instead of diverting traffic to residential neighborhoods, the county has to extend the artery south of Metrorail and feed into it with shuttles.

increased traffic will disrupt neighborhood, pollute with more carbon dioxide. I am OPPOSED to building the 87th ave bridge

I live on 152 & 87th Avenue I don’t see the point of building this bridge to allow cars to fly through our neighborhood to ONLY end up on 141street. Makes no sense.

Moved to Palmetto Bay to be able to retire and live in a peaceful Neighboor . We will be extremely impacted . There is no way we can continue to live here if the bridge is build. I have spend to much money to update my house for this to happen .
