PALMETTO BAY RESIDENTS & MORE LOCALS OPPOSE THE 87th AVE. BRIDGE & APPEAL TO COMMISSIONER DANIELLE COHEN HIGGINS AND THE ENTIRE TPO TO REJECT IT

This project will not benefit anyone, but harm many ones. not solve problem, but spreading problem.

Don't build the bridge, no need.

I oppose the potential bridging project in Palmetto Bay over SW 87th Ave, between SW 164th St and SW 163rd Terrace.

I have sent many emails about this problem if this bridge is built the people who vote for it will be the biggest complainers when tragic turns to their streets at townhall meanings complaining about traffic they will get because 87th ave north of the canal is to short as everyone who lives there already knows that the tragic there is already bad enough. this will also affect the stodents of south ridge middle school who ride there bicycles or walk to school building this bridge is a big mistake that will make a lot more problems than anyone who wants the bridge burly ever emaggined it is a big mistake.

This is not a solution but the opposite. This project will endanger the lives of my daughters who walk and ride their bikes in the neighborhood, and also substantially affect the value of my property and the surrounding neighborhoods. This 1 mile trail is not solving any problem

Where is the mayor ?? that is who represents us... NO BRIDGE I JAVE BEEN HE 20 YEARS WITH NO BRIDGE.. AND ALL THAT I HAVE SEEN IS MORE AND MORE HOUSES BUILT...

The bridge should be the last resort and not the primary. There is no answer to traffic apps, all the commuters traveling to schools in the area(speak to schools to stagger start times/busses for commuters), all the continued development south, and most importantly the reason this needs to be done now?

To our illustrious representatives in the city of palmetto bay. Why dont you please focus on the facts and come to realize that by building this bridge you will be destroying a peaceful way of life. Have you taken the time to take a walk on the neighborhood and see how many kids, families, and pets walk the area. Instead of focusing on diminishing the crime levels of palmetto bay (significant increase in the last 12 months, and would quadruple if this bridge is build), putting lights on our neighborhoods, better equip our police force, maintain parks, you have chosen to spend our tax payers money (3.1 million and counting) on destroying our neighborhood. By even considering building this bridge it has shown us that you as our representatives could care less about the people you represent. Building a bridge will drop property values, futher detriorate our roads, increase crime, accidents, trafic vilotations (yes lets put our limited police force to deal with all that crap rather than patrolling and protecting our neighborhoods) increase pollution, noise, and all the horrific side effects to our neighborhood/families that will come with the building of that useless bridge. The issue is with Dade County, that for years has evaded facing the reality caused by poor urban planning, improper building areas (big fat pockets of contractors and developers) crappy public transportation (one of the worst in the nation, not to mention on the planet). This bride is a lame excuse of a solution to a larger problem, one that needs to be deal with and the county has no idea on how to solve it becuase they are involved in to too many political BS rather than focusing on what the people of dade county needs. Maybe less corruption, more honesty, better leadership, and a solid moral base cana improve the leadreship of the county and that of palmetto bay. This is a stop gap, short term thinking measure that will create more problems than it supposedly cures. Don't ruin our safe area and don't put our children in danger.

This a stupid bandaid fix to a much more complicated transportation problem which would only make traffic worse.

This is a nonresolution to traffic. One road isn’t going to solve the congestion of north to south (and vice versa) travel. It’s incredibly misinformed and speaks to the inefficiency at Miami-Dade.

40 years in Palmetto Bay. NO BRIDGE!!

The bridge will not solve the traffic problem. It will only attract more traffic to Palmetto Bay, with more cars cutting through residential streets. With US1 fully packed, the bridge leads to nowhere. The 3M dollars can be better spent elsewhere to improve public transportation system.

The bridge will be a total waste of tax payer money (over 3M dollars!!). The 87th Ave has a dead-end a few blocks north of the proposed bridge location. What is the purpose of the bridge?? STOP the bridge project!! Save our quiet and safe neighborhood.

The bridge is not a solution to the traffic. Bridge is going to bring a lot more problems to Palmetto Bay.

This bridge seems like a waste of money to me. Such a large expense to extend a road that dead ends in 20 blocks. The intersection of US1 and 144 cannot handle its current traffic load and since this is the intersection right before 87th ends, it will be the bottle neck for traffic to get back onto US1. Who will pay for the redesign and timing of that intersection which will inevitably have a ripple effect down US1? The whole picture needs to be looked at - not just what will 87th bridge do for traffic in that immediate area but how shifting a bottleneck just creates new ones. So how do you justify the expense when the real problem is US1?

Building this bridge without local approval and buy-in is a bad sign for the Miami-Dade commission and county government. This is a neighborhood street inside the village of Palmetto Bay. This bridge is being forced without any representation from the residents, because Danielle Cohen Higgins who proposed the measure wasn't even voted into her seat by the residents who she claims to represent. Danielle Cohen Higgins was appointed, not voted in by residents, on December 7, 2020, to replace Daniella Levine Cava. I don’t understand why Ms. Higgins thinks she knows better than the locals that have looked into the idea. This bridge has been a subject for debate in Palmetto Bay for years, and the engineering studies show very limited benefit for the cost. Hello! That is why the measure has not passed in the village. It doesn’t make sense and is a waste of money! Just ask the local political representatives that were actually voted into their offices. Our local government has already looked at the details and traffic engineering studies. Bad idea by an irresponsible "representative!"
