PALMETTO BAY RESIDENTS & MORE LOCALS OPPOSE THE 87th AVE. BRIDGE & APPEAL TO COMMISSIONER DANIELLE COHEN HIGGINS AND THE ENTIRE TPO TO REJECT IT

No Bridges Thank you.

It is a sad situation of corruption involve. It will increase crime, accidents including some death in the depreciation of our peaceful neighborhood. I know that you wouldn’t like that something similar will happen to you.

This project will cause toouch traffic through our community and it is una ceptable.

As a Palmetto Bay resident I oppose to the 87th Avenue Bridge.

Don’t ruin our neighborhood

Listen to me carefully please! I have lived in Palmetto Bay since 1997 and have loved the security and safety in this community. My son rides his bicycle down 87th avenue to go to school, however if that bridge is built, he along with other kids will no longer be able to do that because it will not be safe! In addition , I have been hearing about a lot of car thefts lately and hence the bridge will only be an invitation for these thieves to come in and out of our neighborhood easier. I understand that other neighborhoods have the traffic, however why would you want to add traffic to another neighborhood, it doesn't make sense. Also, You put that bridge in, and I guarantee our property values will go down ,people will sell ! It will change the beauty of Palmetto Bay! I bought into a safe neighborhood, not a FREEWAY! Walks, riding bicycle and etc. will all be out the door. And those of you that live and Palmetto Bay and want the bridge, don't think for a second they are only going to stay on 87th,they will be driving in front of your house and all the different blocks as well. My family strongly opposes the bridge! Do not do this for an additional 20 blocks! Do not destroy our children's neighborhood!

My family and I have lived in Palmetto Bay since 2003 on our home is on 87th Ave. WE STRONGLY OPPOSE THE BRIDGE!

Stop the bridge! There is no time gain and no congestion relief from a bridge. The destination of commuters is 82 ave and 141 st street where the next bridge is and, is exactly the same distance traveling 87 ave or 82 ave. Back ups are tremendous on 82 ave and 141 st already. Don't induce more traffic with this bridge. A bridge will also make it worse for those who live around 168 st and 87 ave . There is already a traffic control system in place to regulate flow. Flow will not be alleviated at this intersection and the added traffic will make it worse. Cars will still be lined up to the south. Lennar Corp has purchased two more land parcels to the south; about 60 acres with one being multi-housing. We need highways and mass transit!

Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins you have failed to us, as an appointed representative. But also failing the Miami-Dade Residents is our Mayor who in her inaugural 2021 State of the County Speech announced plans to prioritize the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists.

We went through this fight in 2017 and the Miami Dade Commissioners voted against it at the recommendation of Daniela Levine Cava. There were traffic studies done showing there were no benefits because the traffic jam was simply being kicked 20 blocks down. There were countless meetings and a lot of time wasted. How can any responsible, conscientious Commissioner bring this up again. It is a bridge to no where, costing 3.1 million taxpayer dollars, that will not solve the problem but exacerbate it. If the people south of 168th street think this is a solution, beware you will be attraction double the amount of traffic through Waze, Google Maps, etc. Say No to ghe bridge to nowhere.

Building this and other bridges that divert traffic into neighborhoods is totally irresponsible. Vote these folks out of office.

No bridge!

Please note Chief Engineer Frank Guyamier suggested at a 5-30-2018 VOPB Traffic Town Hall that the county engineers would prefer to use residential arterial roads for cut through traffic rather than add lanes to major highways such as U. S. 1. The only thing that the proposed bridge will accomplish is changing the cut through side streets from south and around SW 168th St to off 87th Ave. north of the bridge.

This cannot happen. Terrible to even think of destroying these beautiful neighborhoods.

Palmetto Bay is already being used as a cut through and the non-residents who are in a rush to get to where they are going have no regard for the safety of our quiet neighborhood! I live on SW 77th Ave north of the canal and was instrumental in having a 3 way stop put in at the intersection of SW 156th St years ago after witnessing several accidents with speeders trying to get out to Old Cutler. ANY bridges through here would be a big safety issue!

We must stop the bridge movement before it ruins the quiet Palmetto Bay we are accustomed to, just so people south of us can drive through our city.

As homeowners on 87th Ave we are 100% against this bridge project. We do not want the increase in traffic and danger to our children, nor the decrease in property values.
