Bat Habitat is even more crucial in view of recent catastrophic wildfires and consequent severe habitat degradation. Naming a State Bat will help elevate awareness and appreciation for the vital role bats play in pest control, ecological health, and agriculture. Annually bats contribute more than $14,000,000 in pest control to California's agricultural economy!

We need a state bat and it should be the pallid bat! I really think this is a great way of raising awareness for a group of animals that contribute so much to both fascination and practical industry. Go pallid bat, GO!
